If you stumbled upon this page and have read our introduction, you may be wondering exactly what “Manufacturing Nebraska” is and why we’re dedicated to putting a new face on manufacturing in Nebraska. Today, we’re here to tell you just that.
The blog Manufacturing Nebraska, and all the social accounts associated with it (, , etc., all of which will be fully up-and-running very soon), are the social media counterparts of an organization called NeMAC: the Nebraska Manufacturing Advisory Council.
NeMAC, formed , was created by industry experts and business leaders from a variety of manufacturing sectors to “advocate for the State’s diverse industries and advise business leaders, government officials and state agency representatives. The Council’s objective is to maximize Nebraska’s overall global competitiveness in manufacturing, as well as provide a forum for discussing and addressing industry-related problems and opportunities.”
By uniting manufacturers of all kinds, NeMAC hopes to drive the future of business in Nebraska, fueling job growth and revenue generation in the state for years to come.
But why are we dedicated to putting a new face on manufacturing in Nebraska? And how are we going to do it?
We’re doing this for a few reasons, but the main one is this: the future of Nebraska’s economy depends on manufacturing–which has the potential to continue to be an enormous industry–and that means getting Nebraska’s youth interested in jobs in manufacturing. Contrary to popular belief, manufacturing isn’t all about working long hours for low wages.
Manufacturing now is more technical than ever, and there is a to fill open positions in the industry. That means that we have to invest in the future by getting people interested in manufacturing today.
By aggregating together all of the resources for manufacturing in Nebraska–cutting across state, local, and national government lines–and making them available to readers of Manufacturing Nebraska’s blog, we hope to serve as a resource for anyone interested in manufacturing in the Midwest.
Manufacturing can be a really great industry, and we’re here to show you all the highlights of manufacturing. NeMAC is committed to Nebraska’s future, and Manufacturing Nebraska is here to help the advancement of manufacturing in the Midwest.
