Everybody loves a good success story. And imagine this: a company started in 1961 right here in Nebraska, eventually turning into a world-class supplier of parts for businesses all over the world. What could be better than that?
The story above is exactly what happened with Bruckman Rubber Co. out of Hastings, Nebraska.
They started as a small rubber molding shop right here in our backyard, and now produce rubber, metal and plastic products for customers all over the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Asia. Their website even has different links for readers in Arabic, German, Chinese, Spanish, Hindi, Japanese, and Portuguese–and they’re based right here in Nebraska!
But even with its international reach, Bruckman Rubber Co. still operates with about 70 employees. ; the company’s President and CEO, Jack Schreiner, says that “you need to be international now to remain competitive.”
Today, Bruckman Rubber Co. produces about 3,000 products, including some of the following:
- Irrigation gaskets
- O-rings
- Flange gaskets
- Inflatable seals
- Custom molded rubber products
- Tool & die equipment
Even though they still retain their original name–which suggests that their focus is rubber–the company also produces plastic and metal products, too. As they’ve expanded internationally, they’ve also expanded their capabilities to better meet the needs of their customers around the world.
And even through all of their international expansion, Bruckman Rubber Co. has as a member of the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce, the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Keep Nebraska Beautiful, and the Rubber Division. They were awarded the Award of Excellence, and are committed to remaining as environmentally friendly as possible.
When someone thinks of Hastings, Nebraska, or of manufacturers in the Midwest, it’s not likely that they think of international trade or businesses selling products all around the world. And yet, that’s exactly the case with Bruckman Rubber Co.
The company is yet another reminder that, although they may be a small business with a few dozen employees, and although they’re based right here in our backyard, they’re a highly capable, global manufacturer. Talk about a great representation of Midwestern work ethic spreading all over the world.
