This post is part of an ongoing series of manufacturer profiles. The blogs will cover some of the many names in manufacturing in the state of Nebraska. Check back later for more posts in the series. To see previous posts in the series, click here.
If you’ve spent any time driving on Interstate 80 towards downtown Omaha, you may have seen one of the many big warehouses that occupies real estate along the highway: Conductix-Wampfler.
, an international company, has its regional headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska (right along the highway). There, they have their sales and corporate offices, as well as two manufacturing facilities that total about 70,000 square feet.
Unlike some of the other manufacturers we’ve featured, the name of Conductix-Wampfler doesn’t really give away much about what they do. So what is it that they do, anyways?
For that, we go :
We design, manufacture, and install/service a wide range of conductor bar systems, transit conductor rails, slip ring assemblies, and inductive power transfer (IPT®) systems, as well as cable festoons, spring driven cable reels, and motor driven cable reels. In addition, we offer an array of crane controls, including push button pendants, radio remote controls, and bumpers. For assembly areas, we engineer compressed air and electric delivery systems, and offer workstations, spring balancers, and air balancers. Our field-proven products safely and reliably operate in the most demanding industrial applications. We consult with customers to provide just the right solution every time from our wide range of product options and practical experience.
Essentially, Conductix-Wampfler designs and manufacturers products (and solutions) for industrial applications. Whether that means (the kind you see making their way all across factories these days), or (which you can see at construction sites all around the country), they’re responsible for the manufacture of products that make manufacturing easier.
Specifically at the Omaha location, Conductix-Wampfler manufactures the following:
- Large spring reels
- Motorized reels
- Slip rings
- Heavy-duty I-beam festoon systems
They also have a location in Harlan, IA, with about 110,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
That this international company chose to headquarter its regional offices in Omaha is pretty important: it, along with the many other big-name manufacturers in Nebraska, shows that when it comes to manufacturing, Nebraska is a force to be reckoned with.
We’re proud to have Conductix-Wampfler here in Nebraska, and hope that our series on manufacturers in Nebraska continues to teach you about the many great opportunities for those interested in manufacturing right here in the Midwest.
