The manufacturer featured in this post just goes to show that the diversity of manufacturing located in Nebraska is truly endless. Whether you’re interested in food, agriculture, electronics, pets, sports, technology, engineering, travel, construction, or any number of things, there’s a manufacturer in Nebraska working on it!
For example, take . Manufactured in , this invention is a prime example of the practical and interesting companies located right here in our state.
If you’ve never heard of the CanCooker, an easy explanation is that it is exactly what it sounds like. Invented by Seth McGinn, the CanCooker was inspired by the cream cans over a bonfire that Seth used to cook food as a child working on the farm in Eastern Nebraska. Enter Nebraskan ingeniousness stage left: McGinn invented the CanCooker to cook large amounts of food with minimal work, creating a device that could be used with stovetops, grills, turkey friers, camp stoves, and campfires.
To cook meals with the device, chefs at home or outdoors can prepare large amounts of food and add every single ingredient to the pot, including liquid and seasoning. Whether you want to make dinner by the campfire, game day brats for the Husker game, or an easy meal for the whole family when soccer practice runs late, the CanCooker is devised to make life a little easier.
The cooker is made from anodized aluminum, a conductive metal that allows the food to be cooked differently than in a traditional Crock Pot. As liquid in the pot reaches a boiling point, the steam within the cooker helps cook the food inside quickly without detracting from flavor and color (as can happen with simply boiling). The end result is a meal that is tender and moist, without any liquid being leached away.
From to a to , the CanCooker makes cooking just about anything you’d like easy. Leave it to a Nebraskan to manufacture something to make gathering with friends and family a less stressful experience. It just goes to show that we have manufacturers of all sizes–from large-scale, global manufacturers, all the way down to small companies making one product. Makes you proud, doesn’t it?
